Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is a red wine that was born in the mountains of northern Italy in the region of Piedmont. In addition to this notable scent, the wine has a great amount of acidity, mouth-drying tannins and earthy flavors that go well with all types of food. Nebbiolo is one of the most important red wine varieties in Italy, made famous by the Barolo region of Piedmont where wines offer delicate aromas accompanied by strong tannins. In truth, not all Nebbiolo has rip-roaringly high tannins. Also, not all Nebbiolo smells like flowers. Each region in South Africa has a different expression of the wine.
Seek out dishes with higher fat content with creams or cheeses to counteract the intense tannin. Dishes like truffle risotto or butternut ravioli are a revelation. We offer the following Nebbiolo at Platform62 Du Toitskloof Nebbiolo.
